Installing WordPress
Automatic install
In https://panel.cloudweb.sk, open your hosting and the Applications tab. Find WordPress in the list of available apps and click Install. The form asks for:
- Site Name – pre-filled with your hosting's name.
- Install Path – relative to
/var/www/html; leave it as/if WordPress should run directly on the domain, or enter a subfolder (e.g./blog). The Browse button opens your hosting's folder picker. - Admin Username, Admin Email, Admin Password.
- Database – use the hosting's default database, pick an existing one, or create a new one.
After confirming with Start Installation, the panel downloads the current WordPress release into the chosen path, prepares wp-config.php with the credentials of the database you selected, and completes the WordPress install right away with the site title and admin account from the form. Visiting the domain takes you straight to the finished site, and you log into the admin area with the username and password you entered during install – no further install step inside WordPress itself is needed.
Document root
WordPress doesn't expect a public subfolder – if you installed to the root (path /), also set the hosting's document root to empty so WordPress actually shows up on your domain. See changing the document root. If you installed WordPress into a subfolder, set the document root to that subfolder.
Manual install
You can also upload WordPress yourself via File Manager or FTP/SSH. Create the database first on the Databases tab (see managing databases) and enter these at WordPress's own install step:
- Database name, username and password – shown in the panel next to that database.
- Database Host –
mysql.
wp-cli
wp-cli (the wp command) is part of every hosting's environment, so you can also manage WordPress from the command line – via the web terminal or SSH. The panel uses the same tool itself: for the automatic install above and for the quick actions on the app's tab (see quick actions).
