Managing your hosting: renaming, access, status and deletion

This page covers the everyday actions you manage from the hosting's page in https://panel.cloudweb.sk that do not have a dedicated guide of their own (for example changing the PHP version or changing the plan).

Renaming the hosting

Change the hosting's display name by clicking the pencil icon next to its name in the header of the hosting's page. This is purely cosmetic – it does not affect the domain, credentials, or anything running on the hosting.

Renaming the system username

On the Overview tab, next to the username field, click Rename. This username is used to log in over SSH and SFTP. Changing it creates a new system user and reconfigures the hosting's environment, so the hosting will be briefly unavailable right after you save. The new name may only contain lowercase letters, digits, dots, hyphens and underscores, up to 32 characters, and must not already be used by another hosting.

SSH and MySQL access credentials

On the Services tab you will find collapsible SSH Access and MySQL Access panels. The password is hidden when you open the panel – reveal it with the eye icon, copy it with the button next to the field. The SSH panel also gives you a ready-made connect command and a link to open the connection in WinSCP; for passwordless login set up an SSH key, or create a separate FTP account. The MySQL panel also gives you a ready-made connection string and the values for a Laravel application's .env file.

Resetting the SSH and MySQL password

The reset-password button next to a password generates a new random one. The change is immediate – the old password stops working as soon as you save, so update any saved connections (your FTP/SSH client, your database client, or an application's .env). Resetting the SSH password also applies to any additional SSH accounts created on the hosting.

Live status and resource usage

The Overview tab shows the hosting's current status (running or stopped), CPU and memory usage, and uptime, with a chart covering the last five minutes. Below it, Resource Usage shows disk space and bandwidth against your plan's limit, as a percentage. Above 75% you get a warning, above 90% a critical warning that space is running out.

Fix issues automatically

If the hosting is not running correctly, a quick action appears in the live status section to restart its services. It checks the web server and any background processes running on your hosting, restarts anything that crashed or got stuck, and cleans up leftover temporary files. Your files, databases and e-mail are not touched. When it finishes you get a list of the steps it took.

Preview URL

If your hosting has been assigned a preview address, a toggle on the Overview tab turns it on or off. It lets you view the site before you point your domain at the hosting – anyone who has the link can open it, but search engines do not index it. Once your domain points at the hosting the preview is switched off automatically; you can turn it back on if you still need it.

Cancelling and deleting a hosting

On the Overview tab, in the cancel-service section, click the button to cancel the hosting and confirm with your password to permanently delete it – including its files, databases, mailboxes and settings. A backup is taken automatically before deletion. Any unpaid proformas for this hosting are cancelled; an already-paid period is not refunded. A hosting that is the master of a shared-hosting group cannot be deleted this way – its linked hostings have to be removed first.

E-mails about your hosting

Hosting transferred between accounts

Moving a hosting to a different customer account is done by our support team. If a hosting is transferred to your account, you receive an e-mail summarising what you received (domain, plan, any domains included) and noting that billing moves to your account from the next period. The previous owner receives an e-mail that the hosting was moved off their account and that they no longer have access to it, while invoices already issued to them stay valid. If you were not expecting a transfer, contact support.

Background service stopped

If a custom process running through background tasks keeps failing to start, we switch it off automatically to stop it restarting in a loop, and send you an e-mail with what the server reported. Fix the cause and turn the task back on in the panel.

Disk quota warning

When your hosting's disk usage (files, databases and mailboxes combined) reaches 75%, 85% and 95% of your plan's limit, at each of these thresholds you get an e-mail with the current usage and recommendations (deleting old files and backups, cleaning up e-mail, optimising the database, or upgrading your plan). If you go over the limit and the situation is not resolved within 48 hours, the hosting is switched to read-only – you cannot upload or write new files over FTP or SSH until you free up space. Usage is checked every 15 minutes, and once it drops below 100% the restriction is lifted automatically.
