The cart and checkout

You order a new domain or a new hosting plan through the public cart on cloudweb.sk (/kosik). The cart remembers the domains, hosting and discount you have added even after you leave the page, so you can come back to an order in progress at any time.

What the cart holds

You can add two kinds of items to the cart:

  • Domain – a new registration, a transfer from another registrar, or DNS hosting, where the domain stays registered with its current registrar and we only run its DNS zone for free (the same option used to connect a domain registered elsewhere – see domain registered elsewhere).
  • Hosting or business card – a hosting plan or business-card site, which you either bind to a specific domain in the cart or add without a domain (you connect a domain to it later in the panel).

The number of items in the cart shows as a badge next to the cart icon in the page header.

Domains: registration period and multi-year pricing

For each domain in the cart, the Obdobie (Period) field lets you choose the registration or transfer length, from 1 to 10 years. The domain price is recalculated for the number of years you pick – it is the price for the whole chosen period at once, not a one-off fee plus separate yearly renewals.

Hosting and business card: adding a plan and linking it to a domain

You add a hosting plan or business card in the Services section below the item list, using the Add to cart button on that plan's card. If the cart already holds more than one domain, the plan's card lets you pick which domain it should bind to. If the cart has no domain yet, the plan is added without one, with a note that you can connect a domain to it any time later.

For hosting and the business card you also choose Billing – Yearly or Monthly. With yearly billing you can also prepay for multiple years (1 to 10) in the same way as a domain.

Extra domains in the order: same website, own website, or separate

If you add a second (and further) domain alongside a domain that already carries hosting, each extra domain shows the question Where should the domain point?:

  • Same website as [domain] – the domain will point to the same website as the hosting already in the cart (it works as an addon domain on that hosting).
  • Its own separate website – the domain gets its own, separately running website with its own hosting plan. This choice is only offered to signed-in customers who already have a hosting group, and requires picking a specific Hosting group.
  • Register separately (set up hosting later) – the domain is only registered, with no hosting link in this order.

Discount codes

Enter a discount code into the Zľavový kód (Discount code) field in the order summary and confirm with the Použiť (Apply) button. A code may only apply to domains, only to hosting, or to both, may require a minimum order value, and some codes make a specific product free instead of taking a percentage or fixed amount off – in that case the product itself (a specific plan or domain extension) has to actually be in the cart, or the cart rejects the code. Remove an applied code with the odstrániť (remove) button on the discount line in the summary.

Autopay when you submit the order

The order summary has two toggles that carry over onto the document that gets issued:

  • Automatická platba (Automatic payment) – the amount is charged to your saved payment card on the due date.
  • Platiť z kreditu (Pay from credit) – two days after the document is issued, payment from your credit balance is tried first.

Both toggles are on by default. For how autopay works in detail, and how to change it later on a specific hosting or domain, see the article on paying invoices.

Going to checkout: as a guest or signed in

The Prejsť k pokladni (Proceed to checkout) button sends the cart on to be finalized. If you are not signed in, you are first sent to the login page – after signing in, or after creating a new account, you land back exactly where you left off, at the order form. You can therefore start putting an order together without an account and only create one when you decide to pay.

The order form: domain holder and billing details

If the order includes a domain registration or transfer, the form first asks for the domain holder's details – you either pick a saved domain profile or fill them in by hand. If any extension in the order needs extra registry-specific information (for example a legal type or another registry-specific field), the form shows it right below that block. For a domain transfer, an authorization code (EPP) field from the current registrar also appears before this step.

Next comes the Fakturujeme na (We bill to) block – an individual or a company. For a company you can search by name or company ID directly against the business register; the search fills in the company ID, tax ID and VAT ID automatically, and the fields stay editable by hand.

Payment method and the document issued

After you submit the form, the order is created and you are sent to the payment page for the issued document, where you choose a payment method – credit card, bank transfer, PayBySquare, or credit. The difference between a proforma invoice and a regular invoice, and each payment method, are covered in detail in the article on paying invoices; saved payment cards are covered in payment methods.

What happens after payment

Once payment is received, the order is processed automatically: the domain is registered or its transfer starts, and the hosting is created and configured according to the chosen plan and its link to the domain. The domain registration process, including what to do if it fails, is covered in the article on domain registration and transfer.
